Lansing Boutwell

May 29, 1942 — May 26, 2020

Lansing Wayne Boutwell, 77, of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Carthage, NY passed
away peacefully at his home with family on May 26th, 2020.

Born May 29th, 1942 in Lowville, NY the son of Gordon and Erma Meiss Boutwell. He attended LACS and graduated in 1960,
then attended Albany College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1965. He married the wonderful Judith Benedict on September 5th, 1964 in Turin Methodist Church, they were married for 55 years.


Lance spent 40 years as a Pharmacist, retiring in 2005. He lived in Syracuse, NY for 10 years, in Carthage, NY for 29 years, and then moved to Charlotte, NC in 2002. While living here in Charlotte he volunteered at CMC University, ENDO JV Dept. Lance loved bowling, golfing, playing cards, and traveling with his beautiful wife Jude.


Lance was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Harry and sister, Virginia. He is survived by his wife Judy, son Jeffery Boutwell and wife Kate, daughter Sherry Garrett and husband Rodney, grandchildren Ashley Whiting, Meghan and Alex Rector, Stormy Boutwell, and Miles and Morgan Garrett. He is also survived by a brother David in Summerville, SC and many nieces and
nephews. He has an extended exchange student family, including Mayra of Mexico and Yasmin of Sweden.


Lance will be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest in Turin, NY cemetery.


Donations can be made to Hospice of the Charlotte Region, Reboot Recovery for Military and
First Responders, University City United Methodist Church, and St. Jude’s Hospital.
