Daniel Ryan Baker

August 26, 1983 — September 24, 2021

Daniel Ryan Baker, 38, of Cornelius, North Carolina passed away on September 24,2021.

Dan Baker was born on August 26, 1983 to Dan and Pam Baker in Marietta, Georgia. Dan was the youngest of three children. Dan married the love of his life, Caroline, on March 10, 2012. Together, they have two beautiful daughters, Amelia (age 3) and Lila (age 2). There was nothing that Dan loved more than his wife and sweet girls.

Growing up, Dan enjoyed playing outdoor sports and spending time with friends. As a young teenager, Dan was an active member of the student ministry at Alpharetta United Methodist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 12.

Dan graduated from high school at Saint Francis School, in Alpharetta, Georgia and went on to attend Auburn University.

Later, Dan attended VLB in Berlin, Germany, where he received his Master Brewing Certification.

Working in the Craft Beer industry for 15 years, he worked for several notable breweries to include: Sweet Water Brewing Company, Deschutes Brewery, and Monday Night Brewing. He was most recently the operations manager at Sycamore Brewery in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dan had an avid love and deep appreciation of the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and had an incredible talent for capturing God’s creation through the lens of a camera. His photographs of outdoor beauty will be treasured by his family and friends for years to come.

Traveling, attending musical concerts, and camping were some of Dan’s favorite past times.

Dan loved football. He was a faithful Auburn and Falcons fan even when the bad years were really bad.

Drawing a crowd of family and friends around the grill with great music, Dan was an incredible grill master. He is famous for his beer can chicken and the fattest hamburgers that anyone has ever seen.

An adventurous soul, a master brewer, an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and friend, Dan was loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Baker and two daughters: Amelia Reaves Baker (age 3) and Lila Rhodes Baker (age 2) of Cornelius, North Carolina; his parents, Pam and Dan Baker of Opelika, Alabama; his sisters, Lauren Shaffer (Joe) of Auburn Alabama and Brooke Rys (Kevin) of Marietta, Georgia; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Catherine and Jon Marti of Athens, Georgia; his wife’s parents, Jean and John Norton of Athens, Georgia; and ten beloved nieces and nephews
